About this Service

Through this service, you can submit an online application to be employed as a Contracted Soldier, in accordance with the procedures and official announcements of the Ministry of Defence. The service also allows current SYOP personnel to electronically renew their employment contract.

Who this service is for?

Men and women citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. The eligibility criteria for submitting an application are defined in each official SYOP recruitment announcement, which is published in the Official Gazette of the Republic and on the Ministry of Defence website.

What You’ll Need

Required attachments for the employment application
  • Secondary education school diploma
  • Certificate of good knowledge of the Greek language (if you graduated from an English-speaking school)
  • Certificate of Clean Criminal Record
  • Certificate on the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography
Required attachments after accepting an offer
  • Higher/tertiary education diploma (if applicable)
  • Proof of foreign language proficiency (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Special Driving Licence (if applicable)
  • Certificate of special skills (if applicable)
